Feeling Safe: Emergency Dentistry
It is common for young children to experience medical and dental emergencies. Dental trauma happens frequently in kids because they are still learning and growing. As a parent, you should be able to rest easy without concern about an accident that may occur. Here at Timber Kids Dentistry, we provide emergency dentistry when you need it, so that you don’t need to dread the day a problem arises. Contact us when an accident occurs so that we can help you decide what the best course of action is. If you need immediate help, call 911 or go to the hospital for medical attention.
We don’t want you to feel excessive stress when an accident occurs. Here are some of the dental emergencies that we see frequently and can handle for you:
Chipped or Broken Baby Tooth | We can usually repair a chipped or broken baby tooth. If there is a lot of bleeding, apply gentle pressure to try and stop the flow.
Lost Baby Tooth | If a baby tooth is lost, it is probably due to the new adult or permanent tooth pushing it out of the way. Especially if your child is bewteen the ages 5-14 years old. Again, control bleeding with gentle pressure. Feel free to call or visit Timber Kids Dentistry so that we can take a “look see” and give you more information.
Knocked Out Permanent Tooth | If a permanent tooth is lost, try to save the tooth. Rinse the remaining debris. Keep the tooth in the socket, if possible. If not, keep it in milk, saline, or saliva. We will do all we can to put the tooth back where it belongs.
Object Stuck Between Teeth | If an object becomes stuck between the teeth and cannot be removed with brushing or flossing, you can visit us for its safe removal.
Whether your child is learning to walk, skateboard, or swim, dental emergencies happen. You should always have access to reliable care. For any dental emergencies, you can contact us at Timber Kids Dentistry any time.
